Six interns from Moldova who spent several weeks in Kansas recently received some attention from the local newspaper.
The Miami County Republic published an article this week detailing the experiences of Tatiana Danilescu, Anastasia Donica, Vitalie Marian, Marina Moraru, Nicolae Pascaru, and Aliona Sarbu. The law interns from Moldova traveled to the United States in July as part of a program sponsored by The Leavitt Institute for International Development.
As the article stated, the interns spent weeks learning about legal principles under the supervision of Miami County District Judge Steven Montgomery, a member of the TLI board of directors.
They also experienced aspects of the local culture, including a Kansas City Royals baseball game and the Kansas State Capitol.
